What is CPR?
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is a lifesaving technique used for individuals who’s heartbeat and breathing have stopped. Rescuers trained in CPR learn to restore a normal heartbeat and breathing in a patient with a medical emergency before emergency services arrive.
What is an AED?
An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is a battery powered device that checks a person’s heart rhythm and sends a shock to restore a normal heartbeat. AED’s can be found in many locations, and is used by professional rescuers, fire personnel, police departments and the public that is used with CPR to treat patients with sudden cardiac arrest.
