​Brian J. Kosczuk BA, NRP

Program Director



Mr. Kosczuk serves as the Program Director and Lead Instructor for the Mutual Aid-UPMC-CEM Paramedic Training Consortium. Brian is responsible for the development, management and continuous evaluation of the program’s curriculum, students and instructors. He also oversees all aspects of laboratory, clinical and field sites of the paramedic program. Brian is accountable for ensuring the Paramedic Program meets and maintains National Accreditation Standards.

Brian has been involved in EMS since 1998, and has been a Pennsylvania and Nationally Registered Paramedic since 2002. Mr. Kosczuk received a Bachelor of Art’s degree from Saint Vincent College in 2003. He has been involved in various aspects of EMS instruction, including AHA CPR/First Aid training, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) as well as EMT classroom and laboratory instruction.

Mr. Kosczuk’s EMS experience includes employment as an Ice Hockey paramedic at SportsMedic in Westmoreland County, as well as a corporate field preceptor, training officer and lead instructor of the paramedic program at Mutual Aid Ambulance Service, Inc. Mr. Kosczuk has also been a corporate field supervisor managing EMS operations for Mutual Aid most recently at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport in Unity Twp. and surrounding communities. Brian was appointed Paramedic Program Director for Mutual Aid-UPMC-CEM Paramedic Training Consortium by the Program’s Advisory Committee in August of 2013. Mr. Kosczuk is currently the American Heart Association’s designated Training Center’s Co-Coordinator, as well as the Education Coordinator at Mutual Aid Ambulance Service, Inc. Brian is currently a National Registry regional evaluator, and was previously chosen as an Item Writer for National Registry exam content.
